    Waypointe Restaurants Shopping

    September 29, 2015

A group of adults toasting at a large table in a restaurant

No need to go down to SoNo tonight--you’ve got all the food and entertainment options you need right downstairs!
Oh, and by the way, this is going to be bigger than all of SoNo combined--and the parking will be free.
Needless to say, we’re pretty excited about the developments in The Waypointe District, a brick pedestrian street with a central piazza connected to West Avenue, Merwin Street, and Orchard Street. Here’s what you get to enjoy on a night out just downstairs starting here at 515 West Avenue, Norwalk.
(Note: there are a few things to do now and others to look forward to!)

    Downstairs Dining

When you’re just seeking a casual evening out with friends or your significant other, you don’t want to travel too far. These spots are just the ticket, with delicious food, high quality alcohol, and a location that can’t be beat. Here are some we’re excited about.

    Sedona Taphouse (OPEN!)

We’ve covered the much-loved Sedona Taphouse before--and their solid Yelp reviews are a testament to their high quality food, service, and warm atmosphere. Their menu--full of wild-caught bronzed mahi mahi and Devil’s pass pasta, chicken and penne pasta in a spicy cream sauce--will make you swoon. And if that’s not enough, ask for a rundown of the wines, cocktails, martinis, and over 500 craft beers. It’s almost too much. (Almost.) Read more about Sedona in our blog post!

Colony Grill (on the verge of opening!)

There’s Chicago style pizza. There’s New York style pizza. Then there’s Colony-Grill-style hot oil pizza. This place deserves a category all its own--those thin, crispy light crusts that leave you feeling satisfied but not bloated. The hot oil pizza can’t be found anywhere else. And yummy toppings like stingers, bacon, cherry peppers, and yes, anchovies. Not to mention their breakfast pizza, served only on Sundays from 11:30am - 3:30pm. To say we’re a fan of this place is like saying we sort of like Norwalk (a big understatement).

    Barcelona (coming soon!)

Award-winning Spanish tapas and a great wine selection--it doesn’t get much better than that. When you can’t make it to Spain, the Barcelona Wine Bar is a pretty incredible substitute. Make a reservation beforehand, and once you get there , order up the Jamon Serrano, dry-cured Spanish ham that’s unbelievably flavorful. Next, the tapas. Choose from novel concoctions like burrata cheese and grilled peaches drizzled with balsamic vinegar--a tangy, sweet, tasty confection with peppery arugula to balance things out.

    Bonefish Grill (coming soon!)

It may sound like it’s a given, but the folks at Bonefish really know how to grill. Everything from Chilean sea bass to ahi tuna steak come out the kitchen and land on your table with that amazing wood-grilled flavor, ready to be devoured.

Shopping & Entertainment at Your Fingertips

Enough about nights out. How to spend your day? Now that Loehmann’s is officially closed, it’s being redeveloped into a modern retail center with a fitness center, tons of retail stores, and a movie theater.
Want to get your hair cut? Salons by JC has got you covered. Need containers to hold your stuff? The Container Store will be right by your side. Refreshing your work wardrobe? Nordstrom Rack is where it’s at.
It’s all landing right next door to your luxury apartment in Norwalk. Need to stop at Chase bank to get some cash? It’s open now for your convenience.

If you haven’t yet moved into The Waypointe, you’ll probably want to do it now. Get a head start and watch all of the best stores, restaurants, and entertainment spring up all around you! Interested? Get in touch with us for details.
