Well, a library isn’t just a nice place to read these days. Libraries have evolved to become community gathering centers, places to learn, and yes, even places to work out.
The Norwalk Public Library has made this evolution seamlessly, with plenty of events every week. There’s something for everyone!

Work Out at the Library
Who says you can’t get fit and stay healthy at your local library? There’s everything from yoga to zumba going on this month, so dive in and try out these fun workout and stress-busting events.
If you’re just easing back into working out, you can’t go wrong by joining Beginner Yoga with Cora on December 11 & 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in the Full Auditorium.
In the mood for something to get your energy up? Zumba for Teens and Adults on December 14 & 21 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. is the perfect time to groove those winter blues away.
Need to wind down after all of those holiday parties and events? Sahaja Meditation should help. It’s happening on December 14, 21, & 28 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Chess Room.
Explore Interesting Library Art Exhibits
Check out this month’s gorgeous Fall 2015 International Children’s Art Exhibit, which starts December 10 in the Reading Room, and extends all through the month of December.
This art show, "Capturing the Moment," features student art from 12+ countries. It’s the brainchild of Creative Connections, a nonprofit international cultural education organization that “fosters global competency in children.”
Learn a New Language at the Library
Trying to learn a new language? As you know, most language skills come from practice. The caffe & conversazione event will allow you to practice Italian in a low-pressure environment with others who are also learning! It’s happening December 12 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Carnegie Room.
And last (but not least), what library program would be complete without a book reading? Head to the AuthorSpeak event and listen as authors Elizabeth Benedict and Jane Green unravel their compilation of essays, Me, My Hair, and I. It’s all happening December 14 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m in the Full Auditorium.
