    Halloween Events in Norwalk

    October 17, 2018

Those of us living in Norwalk housing definitely have a lot to be grateful for this Halloween season. In Fairfield County in Connecticut, the community really takes this holiday seriously and they know how to do it right.

The kids absolutely love it because there are always plenty of fun Halloween attractions for children of all ages and adults as well. Although many of the attractions are certainly kid friendly and not necessarily scary, there are also other options for youngsters that enjoy a bit of a fright.

On the other hand, teenagers, older elementary aged students, and adults are certainly in for the time of their life if they enjoy being frightened by incredibly scary Halloween attractions. Many of these big and scary Halloween events can really get your blood pumping and the adrenaline flowing through your body as you are frightened time and time again by the amazing presentations and attractions by the good people in Fairfield County.

So, if you plan to have fun at this Halloween, you’re definitely going to have plenty of great options to choose from. Or, if being frightened is your thing, get ready to have the wits scared out of you in no time at all.

Fun Halloween Attractions for People of All Ages

As previously mentioned, Norwalk and other areas in Fairfield County go above and beyond to create an exciting Halloween experience for everyone. Youngsters and children of all ages love dressing up, going trick-or-treating, and ultimately getting plenty of great candy to eat. But they also love going to thrilling Halloween themed events as well. If you and your youngsters are interested, we’d like to share some of the more popular options with you below.

Trunk or Treat: Welcoming Halloween Fun for Everyone is a great option for kids looking to get plenty of candy on Halloween when their parents do not want them to go door-to-door. As you can probably tell from the name, Trunk or Treat is basically the same thing as trick-or-treating, but instead of going door-to-door to get candy from your neighbors, you are going to walk from one car trunk to another in a safe and fun environment in the United Methodist Church of Westport & Weston parking lot.

Children of all ages are welcome along with their family members. It’s 100% free to go into this event. If you feel like making a donation to the community, they are going to be collecting canned goods. So remember to bring them along to help support the homeless and the local food pantry.

The Glow: A Jack-O’-Lantern Experience is another fun filled Halloween themed event that kids are definitely going to love. Basically, the trail is about one third of a mile, so it’s not very long. But the cool thing about this little stretch of hell is that there are more than 5000 hand carved jack-o’-lanterns on hand to view which is truly amazing.

Each one of these jack-o’-lanterns was carved by an artist. The detail is truly inspiring, the pumpkin carvings are amazing, and these decorations truly look larger-than-life.

Other than the amazing jack-o’-lanterns, there will also be plenty of great fall food and beverages on hand. The carvers will be performing live demonstrations, so you could learn how to carve your own jack-o’-lantern, and they allow you to take pictures so you can post them to your favorite social media channels and share the fun with everyone.

Ghosts of New Haven Tours puts on great Halloween tours in cities all over the US. The Ghosts of New Haven Tour is especially exciting because they entertain people and educate them as they walk and talk about different ghosts and scary things in the community that many people often do not know about.

Their expert guides and speakers are capable of keeping their audience on the edge of their seat so to speak while creating a memorable and unique experience. It doesn’t matter if you are a Connecticut native or not, a retiree or a kindergartner, just know that you’ll really enjoy and appreciate these tours in New Haven because they are a little scary but very interesting all the same.

Scary Halloween Attractions for Older Teens and Adults

Teens and adults certainly like to get frightened during the Halloween season in Norwalk in the Fairfield County area. That’s why there are a number of great attractions for these brave individuals to enjoy as they get frightened out of their wits.

    Some possibilities to consider include:

Nightmare on Walcott Street is one of those extra special yet very scary haunted houses that so many people go to with high hopes and leave frightened beyond belief.

Even though this is going to be a haunted house filled with scary fun, believe it or not it’s recommended for adults and teens. Younger children can certainly go to the haunted house since they do not have any age restrictions, but they need to come with a parent or they will not be allowed to enter.

Tickets are $15. If you have any health issues you should probably avoid the haunted house – especially if you have a heart condition or photosensitivity. You are not allowed to wear a costume either. Only the members of the staff are allowed to wear one.

Legends of Fear is going to be held at the Fairview Tree Farm in Shelton, CT. Again, this is a scary haunted house with other haunted attractions including The Hollow, Melon Head Revenge, Hemlock Manor Mortuary, and an exciting Haunted Hayride. Tickets cost anywhere from $25-$60, so check out their website to learn about the different levels and price structures.
