Best Shops in SoNo
June 30, 2015
We love South Norwalk - fondly known as “SoNo” for so many reasons. It’s the center of our bustling side of the bridge, and we’ve got everything from artisan chocolate to great nightlife options. And when you live at The Waypointe, you’re a five minute drive away from some of the best shopping spots in Connecticut.
Now, for some notable examples of these anti cookie-cutter shops in SoNo.
[Kaas & Co - A Taste of Holland](http://www.kaasnco.com/en/ “Kaas & Co”)
Where else can are you going to stock up on your stroopwafels, keltskoppen, and edam? It’s time to head to Kaas & Co, “Your destination shop for all things Dutch.” They carry all of the Dutch things you never knew you so desperately wanted. Wander around and be transported to a different world.
[Connie B’s](https://www.facebook.com/Conniebs “Connie B’s Boutique”)
There’s something to be said for personalized service and sales in a world of self checkouts and online shopping. Walk into Connie B’s and prepare to be greeted by a team that’s more than willing to help you - in one tailored shopping experience - find the perfect outfit or accessory. Looking for something different? “Unique” is a word that’s come up more than once in online reviews - only to be expected from one of the best shops in SoNo.
Beadworks - a destination for artists and creatives alike - has a couple other stores, but the original’s right here in SoNo. According to several nostalgic store visitors, it’s been here forever - er, 1987. Peruse the massive selection of beads, completed jewelry, and pendants. Lost in a whirl of beads? Take a class there and learn to create your own one-of-a-kind jewelry.
[Cayambe](http://cayambestore.com/ “Cayambe Store”)
This family owned store includes a selection of handmade goods, all Latin American in origin, that you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re in the market for a well-made straw hat or vibrant fine tableware for your home, you can’t go wrong by stopping by Cayambe.
[Knipschildt Choclatier](http://www.knipschildt.com/flash.html “Knipschildt”)
You’ve had all the best desserts in Norwalk - but you haven’t had them all until you’ve been to this famous spot. Chocopologie, the fraternal twin sister to Knipschildt, is right next door, and it’s a cafe with a retail store where you can get a sneak peek into the process of chocolate-making. And it’s mouthwatering.
There’s much to be said for the personality of a place - and Norwalk’s got enough to spare. Head to SoNo, and prepare to come away with plenty of unique items.
