6 Fun Things Norwalk Weekend
May 12, 2015
SoNo may not be SoHo, but there’s plenty of entertainment in Norwalk - and you won’t have to deal with the crowds, tourists, and steep costs of the City. Grab your friends or significant other and get out and explore Norwalk this weekend instead of staying in. Here are 6 fun things to do in Norwalk to get you started:
1. Art About Town
Art About Town kicked off with an Opening Night Street Party on Thursday May 21, and residents enjoyed a traffic free Main Street filled with art, live entertainment, and al fresco dining. Trust us - there are few better ways to enjoy beautiful weather than this beloved Westport event! It’s about a 10-minute drive from your luxury apartment in Norwalk, and you’ll escape into a world of gorgeous art, music, good food, and new friends.
2. The Beer Garden SoNo
Head to SoNo’s very own Beer Garden for Football Sundays and enjoy the game while sipping cold $3 Bud Light drafts or warming up with $3 Fireballs.
3. Calf Pasture Beach
Ahh, Calf Pasture Beach. The beach needs no explanation. But the name does. Apparently, this beach area was actually used in the 17th century as a grazing area for - you guessed it - the mooing kind. Before you go, print out the free pass for Norwalk residents, and bring money for parking. Then, all that’s left to do is lie on the sand and soak up the briny breeze and sunshine. Obviously this option’s out if the weather’s bad - but don’t forget it’s there waiting for you!
4. Sundays after 6 at Bowlmor
Bowling is one of those fun events that really never gets old. No matter how many times you throw that ball down the lane, you’re bound to enjoy yourself, strikes or not. And at Bowlmor lanes, Fairfield County’s “first and only” boutique bowling venue, you’ll enjoy more than the usual bowling fare. Everything’s a step above your average bowling alley, from the gleaming, colorful decor and mood lighting to the outstanding menu. Get there Sunday after 6 and enjoy $3.49 games, $3.49 shoes, and $3.00 PBRs.
5. SoNo Events - Meetup
You’ll need to sign up in advance for many of these SoNo Events that are geared to 20s and 30s (professionals). Past events include everything from speed dating to hit Broadway musicals. Close to 1,200 members don’t lie - this Meetup group is happening.
Life at The Waypointe is both exciting and relaxing at the same time - and there is no better way to spend your weekend than right here around Norwalk, CT. Want to join our community? Get in touch today.
